BEAM Meeting Dec 2004 Goals

Purpose: The SEEK research project has spent the past year developing analytical infrastructure to support the ecological community. We have met with the ecological niche modeling community on several occasions to design a prototype project that will use that infrastructure. The purpose of this meeting is to show our progress on the new infrastructure (Kepler), get some feedback about the direction we are taking, inform the community about metadata requirements for using the infrastructure and provide initial training.
Goals:

  1. Demo Kepler
  2. Kepler training
  3. Morpho training
  4. Kepler UI testing
  5. Discuss mammal project pipeline
  6. Investigate potential for modifying the GARP pipeline for other uses
  7. Plan for next steps: dispersal, spatiotemporal connectivity, scaling analyses, biodiversity matrices, landscape ecology metrics, productivity models
  8. Set up contacts and mechanisms for user interaction and support
