KRSMS Onto Creation Guide

The Basic Ideas:

  • Every Concept represents a set of things (also called instances or individuals)
  • Every Thing represents an abstract or real object (i.e., practically anything)
  • Concepts can be organized into Subsumption Hierarchies, in which one Concept may be a subset of another Concept
  • Identity, Unity, Essence, etc.
  • Need to clarify the difference between "object", "instance", "instantiation", and "concept" and when to model an object as an "instance" versus a "concept", and so on
