Create Concept Maps

Use Case: Create Concept Mapping

Actors

Primary Actor
A data provider, the individual or group that is contributing access to a database that can relate concepts from his data source to other concepts in SEEK

Description

Data provider selects conepts from his data source and concept provided through SEEK and introduces a relationships between the 2 to map the concpets. Other users of SEEK will then see the relationships of this concept to any others to which it has been related.

Flow of Events

Pre-conditions

  • The user must have permission to write to the SEEK system database
  • SEEK must be able to return concepts to the user

Basic Flow

  1. A data provider select a concept from his data source.
  2. SEEK system returns set of concepts related to the one selected by the data provider (may require user to enter criteria on which to search the system).
  3. User creates mapping relationships between his concpet and those he deems appropriate.
  4. Relationships made available to SEEK system.

Post-conditions

None

Alternative Flows

  • User may edit an existing entry, which is the same as adding a new entry except the mapping held in SEEK is updated rather than created.
