Use Case: Create Taxon List

Actors

Primary Actor: Aggregator (is a data provider - possibly non-SEEK provider) who wishes to harvest taxonimc concept/name information for creating own local data source.

Description

Aggregator specifies the data sources (default include all SEEK registered data sources) from which the concept can be extracted. User is returned with XML for integration into own local database.

Flow of Events

Pre-conditions

All data sources/provders registered with SEEK provide a service to download all concepts/names stored in their system according to an agreed XML schema.

Basic Flow

User selects data sources of interest to them (or use default list)
SEEK system sends service request to data providers/sources and forwards XML output to user.

Post-conditions

None

Alternative Flows

User might be provided with one default ("approved") authority as source for down load and they have to select all others they are interested in.

Issues

This could generate enormous amounts of data and may not be a service all providers offer or offer freely to everyone.
