Informatics For Data Managers

Informatics for Data Managers: ( summer/fall 2005)

  • Audience: data managers, field station managers and technical support staff/students
  • Objective: This course is designed to help data managers organize and incorporate archived data into larger repositories and provide individuals with the tools and skills to create dynamic websites and databases.
  • Methods: 10 week web-based course where participants use site data and existing bibliography and publications to create a dynamic data base.
  • Topics include: dynamic data bases design; Metadata; QA/QC; Wireless technologies, Computer mark-up languages; Tools: Metacat, Morpho, Harvester; Dynamic Website design
