Reports are being submitted and will be summarized on Tuesday.
If you just submitted a report, it will be at the bottom of this page.
Current tasks / bugs
- Completed draft of paper on Abstract Model And Exchange Schema for Taxonomic Concepts
- sent to some members of seek taxon for comments and information
- Started work on second paper focussing on the imortance and benefits of using Taxon concepts for ecologists
- probably ready to send this out to possible coauthors next week
- Updating TDWG discussion WIKI on proposed draft standard exchange schema
- Addressing design issues with exchange schema as they arise from SEEK/KU and TDWG community
Current tasks / bugs
- Working on new layout for multiple hierarchy visualisation.
Current tasks / bugs
- Working on finding/checking-on bugs in the installer version of kepler (e.g. problem with one of the R examples)
- Reviewing 'RServer' code as a method for simplifying the Kepler/R insterface and making the transfer of data easier
- Working on understanding the 'Grass' package as a GIS for Kepler
Current tasks / bugs
Completed tasks / bugs fixed
- Finished propogating data model changes throughout the code to handle returning either fully defined concepts (with relationships) or incompletely defined concepts (bug 1647).
- This included defining 2 new relationship classes, and abandoning some unnecessary classes (bug 1677).
-
- Modified the CConcept class to more closely align it with the Taxonomic Information Exchange Schema (version 0.8). Propogated changes throughout code.
- Algorithms were modified to test equality of new members.
- Minor refactoring was done to simplify the CConcept-related objects.
-
Current tasks / bugs
- Tests for algorithms must be modified to match the new CConcept members
- The parser for enterProviderData has been modified to handle the newest version of the schema. This schema should be relatively stable, so no additional changes are yet planned. The parser is not completed, but at this point, all tests run successfully.
- Run XSLT transformer provided by Dave Thau
- Must be modified to produce data for the newest schema version
- Add resulting data to database using enterProviderData API
Completed tasks / bugs fixed
- KNB workshop agenda and planning
Current tasks / bugs
- Kepler changes in preparation for an alpha3 release
- Metacat changes in preparation for a release for the KNB workshop

Significant issues
- Jianting Zhang started as a new postdoc at UNM focusing on SEEK work
Current tasks / bugs

Completed tasks / bugs fixed
- SQL engine for data query in kepler is almost done.
Current tasks / bugs
- Intergrating querybuilder and sql engine code into kepler.
Significant issues
Completed tasks / bugs fixed
- Worked with Shawn to get the ontology search engine incorporated into kepler. It now works for a small test ontology in the branch ONTOLOGY_PRELIM of kepler
- Finished tree restructuring search result handler
- added search pane as a pluggable interface
Current tasks / bugs
- Creating bigger ontology for the kepler actor library
- fixing bugs in the actor tree search interface
- preparing for 10/15 kepler release
- looking at search interface to see if it could be extended to make ontology searching easier.
