Nico Franz

Completed tasks / bugs fixed

  • Attended SEEK meetings at KU; discussed joint manuscript with Robert Peet.

Current tasks / bugs

  • Concept/GUID manuscript with Dave Thau and others; strategy to involve mammal experts in BEAM use case; design of tools for experts to contribute taxonomic concept information.

Significant issues

  • In my view the meetings were very productive, although I agree that a little more time for each subgroup (as planned for Colorado '05) would have been useful. All of us clearly want time to meet "on our own." As for the interaction time, may 2 people per subgroup can be charged with proposing a SPECIFIC TOPIC (use case, functionality) that requires interaction, rather than just "Taxon and SMS meet..." or "everyone meets."

Bing Zhu

Completed tasks / bugs fixed

  • Attended SEEK all hands meeting

Current tasks / bugs

  • refine add operation for registry service
  • evaluate GT 3.9.3 with current implementation of Ecogrid services
